B11-08 Comprehensive Stormwater Mitigation Project
June 2008 Update:
Work has resumed at the
Carter Hill/West Parish Road project site including final cleanup and
restoration. Additional drainage improvements are underway at the Tenney
Street outfall area including the replacement of a damaged section of City
stormdrain system and the installation of a trench drain on Tenney
Street. Work is expected over the next week or so including
slope restoration and final cleanup and seeding. Overall, given that City
staff designed and managed the construction of the projects, both the Carter
Hill (CIP357) and Tenney Street project (CIP439) were completed under
budget.
With respect to the
replacement of the Bow Brook box culvert, Engineering is coordinating the
replacement of the culvert structure under Pleasant Street with work to
begin on June 23rd. Roadway closures are expected during the work day.
Once complete, the Contractor is expected to mobilize for the replacement of
the box structure under Warren Street at the intersection of Westbourne
Road. Engineering staff is coordinating the temporary impacts to utilities
with residents and business owners in the area. The project is scheduled to
be completed in late July.
February 2008 Update:
Construction efforts continue at the Tenney
Street drainage outfall with the installation of drainage structures and pipe.
The intent of this project is to address the significant channel erosion that
has occurred over the past few years as a result of the recent flooding. Work
is expected through February and March with early spring completion. Despite
the weather, construction has been continuous and productive.
