I want to install/build a shed. Do I need a Building Permit?
Yes, a building permit is required to build or place a shed on a lot. Please file a completed Building Permit Application with a copy of a plot plan showing the location of the shed on the lot. We can generate a small plot plan in our office if you don’t have one. There are exceptions to the normal setbacks that allow a shed to be as close as 5’0” from the property line provided the shed is at least 50 feet from the street. Otherwise normal setback requirements for the zone apply.
