How do I get a Brush Permit?It's the Law - FIRE PERMITS are required by NH RSA 227-l:7, I & II. Within Penacook and the City of Concord you must call 603-225-8514 to obtain a permit. Every person, firm or corporation who kindles or causes to be kindled any fire, or shall burn or cause to be burned any material where fire could communicate to woodlands SHALL obtain a written fire permit from the forest fire warden in the town or city where the fire will be kindled. An exception is made when the ground where you are burning is covered with snow, however, we ask that you still notify us as a courtesy. There are several questions that the fire warden will ask when issuing a permit. Back to TopHow do I get a copy of a fire or ambulance report?Please call 603-225-8651 for a copy of a report. Please have the incident date and location information available. A valid photo identification and a signed authorization will need to be provided in order to obtain any confidential reports. Time requirements for inspections vary and will be scheduled accordingly. Back to TopWhat is a False Alarm Charge?Structures within Penacook and Concord that are protected with a fire alarm system are allowed 2 false alarms during a six-month period. A false alarm is defined as when the system malfunctions. After two false alarms a charge of $173.00 per occurrence is assessed. After the fifth false alarm a charge of $ 344.50 per occurrence is applied. Owners of buildings protected by fire alarm systems need to provide the Fire Department with a contact person to respond to reset the fire alarm system. A 30-minute response is required after notification. Failure to respond or be contacted, results in an automatic charge of $230.00 per occurrence.
