Trash collection and disposal has become more and more expensive, prompting over 7,000 towns and cities nationwide to implement a program that encourages recycling and controls their costs. This successful program is called Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT).
![]() PAYT is a great opportunity for Concord residents to control the cost of their trash disposal. Residents only pay for what they throw away! The more recyclables and kitchen/yard waste removed from the trash, the less it costs – Recycle & Save!THE CITY'S CONTRACTOR WILL NOW BE PICKING UP RECYCLED MATERIALS ON A WEEKLY BASIS. *** REMINDER***TRASH AND RECYCLING MUST BE PLACED CURBSIDE BY 7 A.M. ON THE MORNING OF PICK UP. Concord residents who have their trash collected at the curb, will need to buy purple PAYT trash bags at local retail stores. There are two bag sizes offered: a $2.00 bag which will hold about twenty pounds of trash and a $1.00 bag which will hold about ten pounds of trash.Concord residents who place their trash in dumpsters, will NOT need to buy City issued purple bags. These properties will be billed directly by the City for solid waste services based upon the number and size of the dumpsters at their property. ONLY trash placed in Concord purple PAYT bags will be
