Teen Book Awards
Isinglass Teen Read Award
(New Hampshire students, grades 7-8) 
Started in 2001 by the Barrington Public Library and the Barrington Middle School.  New Hampshire 7th and 8th graders nominate titles and vote for the winners.
Voting is done annually in April.

Flume Award

The Flume: NH Teen Reader's Choice Award
(New Hampshire students, grades 9-12)
Created in 2005 in response to a New Hampshire teens' request to have a book award geared towards high school students. Teens nominate titles, published within the last two years, librarians then narrow the group of titles to a list of 13. Teens then vote for the winning title from the list.

Margaret A. Edwards Award
The Edwards Award is administered by YALSA (Young Adult Library Services Association) and sponsored by School Library Journal magazine. Recognizes an author's work in helping adolescents become aware of themselves and addressing questions about their role and importance in relationships, society, and in the world. 


Alex Award
(age 12-18) 
The Alex Awards are given to ten books written for adults that have special appeal to young adults, ages 12 through 18. The winning titles are selected from the previous year's publishing. The Alex Awards were first given annually beginning in 1998 and became an official ALA award in 2002.
Winners are selected by a committee, but anybody can suggest a title.
