The day to day operations and daily functions of the Concord Police Department are sustained by a network of various support staff personnel. These individuals work hard in the background to assist and augment our front-line personnel.
The department mechanic is tasked with the repair and maintenance of the entire department fleet including all the mechanical and electrical work, as well as all the vehicle set up work and installation of specialized accessories.
The Fiscal Tech prepares, processes, reviews, and tracks accounting and other financial transactions; processes accounts payables, and/or receivables, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, service payment vouchers, and petty cash. The position includes the monitoring and tracking of budget expenditures, processing employee travel and training requests, verifying compliance with City of Concord travel policy and processing court ordered restitutions.
The Planning and Analysis Lieutenant is tasked with evaluating the future needs of the organization. This responsibility includes a focus in assessment, research, report preparation and grant writing. He is responsible for the analysis of data to assist the department in crime analysis and mapping. He is also responsible for the assessment and updates of the department's operational plans and also handles special projects as they arise.
The Training & Services Division Lieutenant has a triad of responsibilities. He is responsible for the coordination of each phase of the recruitment and hiring process for new employees, the coordination of training programs for all department members, and the counseling and guidance for employees with career development concerns.
The Training & Services Division Sergeant supervises the Community Services Unit and fills the roll of department quartermaster. He acquires, maintains, and outfits officers with all the equipment and tools necessary to perform their duties. He coordinates building maintenance issues and also serves as one of the department's main go-to guys for the variety of odd tasks that pop-up on a daily basis.
Numerous other individuals are employed throughout the police department in a variety of roles. Each role is an important component to the organizational structure as a whole. Some of these other positions include Community Service Aid, Receptionist, Maintenance, and Crossing Guards.
