General Services

  1. Hydrant Flushing

    April 14 - May 26

General Services Highway & Utilities Division flushes City-owned hydrants in order to remove any sediment from water distribution pipes to maintain water quality and clarity, while checking the water pressure. During hydrant flushing, water may be discolored and experience low pressure but is still safe to use and drink. Residents should let their cold water run for each faucet until discoloration goes away. It is recommended to not wash any clothes or run hot water during hydrant flushing. Flushing will take place for approximately 5-6 weeks. Please visit our Street Maintenance Page for more information and for the Hydrant Flushing Schedule to see which areas are affected for each week.
